The AIRC Foundation for Cancer Research is a private non-profit organisation, established in 1965
THE NEED
The sale of azaleas for Mother's Day has been an important fundraising activity for the AIRC since 1985. During the recent lockdown period, the Foundation expressed a desire to find an alternative way to distribute the plants.
THE SOLUTION
We created a temporary logistics structure to receive, pack and distribute more than 300,000 plants within 15 days. The packaging needed to protect the plants was designed and packaged, 3 work shifts for 7 days a week were set up, involving 25 people in shifts.
THE BENEFIT
Despite the ongoing pandemic, AIRC succeeded in the most important fundraising campaign of the year. It was able to distribute the same number of plants as in a normal year and raised over 3.5 million euros in research funds.
